The Pacific Ocean from Easter Island to Tahiti is very smooth. We have been doing our normal “at sea” functions. We started with the travel seminar on Papeete. We then attended a seminar on Theo Faberge’ the famous artist that created eggs for royalty. He used a machine called the Haltzapffel Lathe that was destroyed by the Nazis. It took him over 3 years to reconstruct a lathe after the war. It was similar to a child’s etch-a-sketch, but he would only keep the perfect eggs he made. The first egg was made for the Russian Czar as a Valentine’s Day gift for his wife. It was done with such perfection and beauty that his name became world known. His grandson, who was illegitimate and didn’t know his origins, took up the same craft. He didn’t know he was a Faberge until after his mother died. Funny how some talents/traits are learned behavior and others are innate.
We laid in the sun and played ping pong. Just a relaxing day sailing the Pacific.
After a hot day outside, we came into to a cool supper in the formal dining room.
Jerry enjoys teaching “the boys” card tricks!
We sure do miss all of you!
