At 11:00pm Thursday evening we crossed the Equator. At 7:45 am we boarded a tender boat that took us to shore. This picture is taken as we are leaving the ship. The water is VERY dirty. Once on shore, we boarded a bus that took us to the city of Belem, Brazil.
Our first stop was the Vero-Peso Market. There we bought some brazilian nuts. They had all fish and meats hanging outside in the 82 degree weather. They had caught a shark that morning and were selling pieces of it. The next stop was the Fort de Castilo, then on to a temple. Crime is very high at the market and we had our own security guard with us. He told us 2 people were pick pocketed at the market.
Back at the ship by 5:00. My name was drawn in a random drawing tonight! I won a hat, shirt, cards and $10. My lucky day!
