We woke up early to a super cold and rainy day in Hong Kong. Victoria Harbor is normally beautiful, but today it was obscured by fog with temperatures in the 50’s.
This was our private driver, Mike and our guide Johanna Law.
Our friends, Mike and Wenndy, took the tour around Hong Kong and Kowloon with us.
Our first stop was a boat ride on a sampan. Originally, sampans were made with 3 pieces of wood, the bottom and two sides!
This is the world’s largest floating restaurant called the Jumbo Floating Restaurant!
Our next few stops were in search of a Diet Mountain Dew, to no avail Johanna even took us to an American Market; 7/11; and Watsons. There was a wedding at the hotel where the American Market was. They closed down the street for the arrival of the priest.
This is the hotel, note the center section has an opening. The Chinese are very superstitious, and they believe the dragon from the mountains, must see through this window to protect them.
Our next stop was the Stanley Market, then on to the Golden Computer Center.
At night, we went to the Stars Walkway where we saw Jackie Chan’s star.
We ended our night with the Symphony of Light Show.
Today was Mom’s Birthday and I am so grateful that we had such a wonderful mentor and friend. We are all so blessed to have known her. Miss and love her soooo much and know she continues to watch over all of us. Love you Momma.
Wow! The city in the background looks breath taking. Almost seems as if the city is glowing and illuminating the sky. Pretty!
